Our weekly meetings consist of a screening of an arthouse film, followed by a discussion. The discussion is led by one of our members, or sometimes a guest speaker, and encourages members to share their thoughts and interpretations of the film.
Nightcap (2000)
A strange whodunit anti-thriller, which is a hallmark of Chabrol’s late stage films, we follow Mika, a heiress to a chocolate company and her husband, as their lives flips around with the arrival of a Jeanne who was almost switched at birth with their son. A seemingly car wreck kind of a film where we know what could happen, but cannot look away.
Who are The Parallel Cinema Club?
We are a community-run film society based out of Bangalore and Hyderabad. We are a group of film enthusiasts who meet up once a week to discuss the reel world, auteurs and themes, and occasionally host guest lectures.
