IndieWebClub #3 with Ankur and Tanvi

The agenda this weekend is to delve into some technical topics. We want to help everyone get set up with RSS readers so we can all follow each other’s blogs, and also talk about the ways in which we can discover the IndieWeb.

We often to get stuck in a loop where we keep refreshing the same few social media websites constantly. This weekend, we want to talk about how we can break out of that loop, and how we can discover wholesome long-form (or short-form) writing outside of Big Tech silos.

What is IndieWebClub?

IndieWebClub is part of a growing world-wide network of meetups for everyone who wants to take back their web experience from social media silos, and own their online identities & content, or just want support with blogging!

  • Want to blog more and looking for: ideas, momentum, and a supportive community?
  • Join a gathering of like-minded people and get friendly support with writing, creating, and anything related to using and improving your own website!
  • You do not need to have any tech background or experience in having your own website. You can even start with a Google Doc or your local notes app!

I had no idea we were having IWC meetups in Bangalore!

Will this be hybrid at all? I wouldn’t be able to join in person but I’d love to pop in if there’s digital access.

Hello!

Yep, we’ve been watching all the hanging out people were doing on indieweb.org and decided to fix the FOMO

We currently don’t have a way to do hybrid because we’re just getting started. We have neither the equipment nor the experience around creating an actually good hybrid event. But we might consider recording the event or doing a live stream in the future?

And of course, this digital discourse-based community is something we hope people online could participate in.

Thanks, and I’m really pleased with this development.

I’ll be sure to keep an eye on future events and fingers crossed for something hybrid soon.
