Our weekly meetings consist of a screening of an arthouse film, followed by a discussion. The discussion is led by one of our members, or sometimes a guest speaker, and encourages members to share their thoughts and interpretations of the film.
On The Beach at Night Alone (2017)
“Where is love? It’s not even visible. You need to be able to see it to search for it.”
South Korea’s contemporary favourite - Hang Sang-soo’s On The Beach at Night Alone is about an actress contemplating about her relationship with a married man. A two part film with lingering echoes from each other, blurs Hong’s indulgence with his own life and his film!
Who are The Parallel Cinema Club?
We are a community-run film society based out of Bangalore and Hyderabad. We are a group of film enthusiasts who meet up once a week to discuss the reel world, auteurs and themes, and occasionally host guest lectures.
