Welcome to Piece-off #1, the first edition of our jigsaw puzzle competitions in Bengaluru! Bring a partner or a team and try your hand at speed puzzling - puzzlers will race each other to do the same puzzle at the same time, and the top two finishers in each category go home with a prize! The competition puzzle is included in the registration fees - you can take your puzzle home with you!
Categories: Pairs (group of 2) and Teams (group of 4). You must register under only one category as all groups will compete at the same time. Only one person from each group needs to purchase a ticket for the group. Names of the remaining group members may be provided at the venue.
Slots: limited to 10 for Pairs and 5 for Teams.
Time: 2.30-6.30 PM, Saturday, 13th July.
Rules:
- Groups have 3 hours to attempt to complete a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle.
- Pairs will puzzle on a 3 ft x 3 ft table, Teams will puzzle on a 3 ft x 5 ft table.
- Puzzles will come bagged, with an image for reference.
- To open the plastic that covers the puzzle, only letter openers, keys or other non-sharp objects may be used - sharp objects like scissors or box cutters are not permitted.
- Sorting trays will be provided. Groups may not bring their own.
- If, once the 3-hour period has elapsed a group has not finished the puzzle, we will count the number of placed pieces, adding only lots of 3 or more pieces correctly joined together. Teams will be ranked by the least number of unplaced pieces.
- If pieces are missing/misplaced at the end of the puzzle, 10 seconds for each lost piece will be added to the final time. If there are 2 or more adjacent and missing pieces, no penalty will be applied as it is considered a manufacturing error.
